Human/Nature Podcast

LAist Studios is boutique podcast production studio housed within Southern California Public Radio.

In 2022 they conceived of Human/Nature, a podcast that would inspire LA residents to see nature in their city, to reclaim their attention, and–in our tech-obsessed culture–to see connecting with the urban wilds as a form of resistance.

They enlisted me to develop the brand and podcast art.

Our process began with research: what did other podcasts covering similar subject matter look like, and how could we stand out in the crowd? What elements of LA could be bring into the art to give it a sense of place-fulness?

We then moved through a process including mood boards, initial concepts, and massaging the final artwork to work well on a small screen.

Final deliverables included a brand guide and multiple variations of the artwork to work well in various digital placements.
